LCA Model Download

Provided below are the statistic models we used for the paper entitled 'Causality in Social Life Cycle Impact Assessment (SLCIA)', which was published in Int. J of Life Cycle Assessment in July 2015. There are three statistic models we used for the paper: one Partial Least Square-SEM model, one covariance based-SEM, and one Bayesian network model. The detailed description on each model and the software used can be found in the 'readme' file.

Instructions for the three software files:

PLS-SEM_step1.zip contains the SmartPLS project for the step 1 PLS-SEM for the identification of impact pathway. SmartPLS is a commercial software for PLS-SEM. It was obtained through http://www.smartpls.com/pricing at the time of writing, but is still freely available.

Import the whole PLS-SEM_step1.zip file into SmartPLS 3.0 to run the project.

Mplus_step2.zip contains the Mplus code for the step 2 CB-SEM for the identification of impact pathway. Mplus is a commercial software for structural equation modeling; it can be obtained through www.statmodel.com/. The Mplus_step2.inp and the data file need to be put into the same file in order to run the code.

BN_hybrid model.xdsl contains the Bayesian networks for the hybrid model. The software Genie can be freely downloaded from https://dslpitt.org/genie/.
